Continue to exercise caution in the coming hours after a magnitude 6.9 offshore earthquake struck at around 21.59 (local time) on 30 September. According to the US Geological Survey, the temblor originated approximately seven miles (11km) east-south-east of Calape (Cebu province, Central Visayas region), at a depth of six miles (10km). No tsunami warning was issued, though several aftershocks have been reported, with the strongest measuring at magnitude 5.2. At least 63 people have been killed and more than 150 injured. The emergency services will continue to assess further damage and casualties in the coming hours.
