International SOS Hires Former Boeing Company VP And Chief Security Officer As New Security Advisor

International SOS has announced today that they have hired retired Vice President and Chief Security Officer of The Boeing Company, Dave Komendat, as their new Senior Security Advisor. He will be responsible for working with clients to solve complex challenges, including the areas of travel risk management, business continuity, event security, and threat intelligence.

Prior to joining International SOS, Komendat spent 36 years with The Boeing Company, leading one of the world's largest and most complex security organizations within the industry. Komendat also led the Boeing interface for both national and international security policy engagement with numerous government and industry advisory groups. He represented Boeing as a past co-chairman and current board member on the Domestic Security Alliance Council and served as a member of the Threats and Information Committee for the Overseas Security Advisory Council.

Komendat currently holds several board leadership roles for non-profits with the mission to protect people globally. After retiring from The Boeing Company, Komendat started his own firm, DSKomendat Risk Management Services, with the goal of sharing the lessons, experiences, and knowledge of leading at the highest levels within the security profession with others.

Johnstone was also a special agent with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Office of Criminal Investigations, as well as the former U.S. Customs Service, Office Enforcement (now known as Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
• Rich Davis, former Chief Security Office of United Airlines who for thirty years worked very closely with multiple government entities including the FBI, U.S. State Department, DHS, TSA, U.S. Customs and the intelligence community as civil aviation was, and remains, a primary target of terrorists.
• Stevan Bernard, who served as Executive Vice President at Sony Pictures Entertainment with extensive knowledge in protection of personnel, content/data and properties in over 50 countries, on 6 continents. He also played key leadership roles in technology, energy, food, law-enforcement and the military.
• John Rendeiro, a former Assistant Director for International Programs of the Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Department of State who was responsible for protecting the Department's international facilities and personnel from the threats of terrorism, espionage and crime. Before his assignment with the State Department, Rendeiro served as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army.
