International SOS is closely monitoring the passage of Category 3 (at time of writing) Hurricane Erick ahead of its anticipated landfall.
Organisations are advised to activate hurricane-preparedness plans and defer non-essential travel to coastal areas of Guerrero and Oaxaca states. This includes preparing to depart ahead of landfall or sheltering in place as informed by a personal-risk assessment.
Hurricane Erick will bring heavy rain, destructive winds and storm surge to Guerrero and Oaxaca’s coastlines before weakening and impacting Michoacan and Jalisco states. Workforces should follow all official directives, including any evacuation orders. In-location people must be fully confident in their ability to stand fast in their accommodation for a period of at least 72 hours.
Given the dynamic nature of the situation, we encourage clients to stay informed through our situational alerts, accessible via email, Assistance App, or via our Online Portal.
We remain committed to providing timely, verified, and actionable information to enable informed decision-making.
