Who Should Attend

Travel risk managers, compliance/audit staff, HR professionals with travel oversight, and H&S/security practitioners in any sector who need to evaluate TRM performance and report clear findings.

Program

Course Details:

This two-day, live online course equips participants with the knowledge to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits of their TRM program against ISO 31030. Participants will learn to:

  • Set up a simple TRM audit program (frequency, scope, roles, sampling) aligned with your travel risk profile
  • Apply a process-auditing approach across the travel journey (pre-trip → during travel → post-trip) to test real-world effectiveness
  • Write concise, reliable reports: clear evidence, balanced conclusions, actionable follow-up
  • Link auditing to Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) so findings translate into sustained improvement and integrate into broader management systems

Day 1 – Foundations & Planning (4h)

  • Using ISO 31030 as audit criteria alongside your policy and legal/Duty of Care requirements
  • Define scope and priorities, review key records, build a focused audit plan and question set
  • Design an efficient, risk-based audit program for TRM

Day 2 – Conducting the Audit & Driving Improvement (4h)

  • Conduct interviews, trace records end-to-end, and test controls for higher-risk travel
  • Reporting and follow-up: nonconformities vs. opportunities, corrective actions, simple verification methods
  • Embedding findings in PDCA and management review for continual improvement

Active Learning

Live virtual classroom with case studies, short simulations, breakout discussions, and downloadable templates (audit plan, question guide, evidence log, findings & actions register). Exercises can be applied to your organization or a provided case study.

Practical Takeaways:

  • A tailored TRM audit plan and efficient audit program ready for immediate implementation
  • A checklist/question set mapped to ISO 31030 focus areas
  • A findings & actions register to track improvements through closure

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a CPD-accredited certificate.

Kindly note that the course does not provide the ISO 31030 standard guidance document, as it is an ISO property and must be purchased separately via the ISO website.
