Problem
Our client's SAGD oilsands site is a long-term operating plant that presents significant challenges when it comes to managing the health and safety of its workforce. With a workforce ranging from 450 to 600 employees, our client faced significant risks and high costs associated with managing these activities in-house.To mitigate risks associated with potential liabilities and to control costs, our client recognised the need for a reliable partner to manage their medical services and provide comprehensive medical solutions.
Solution
International SOS established a strong and dependable partnership with our client by providing integrated medical services. Our services included medical response, medical centre, and rescue and fire response, which collectively ensured the safety and well-being of our client’s workforce. Through our dedicated Response Centre, we provided emergency medical services and worked in close collaboration with on-site nurse practitioners. We also provided an ambulance stocked with Advanced Care Life Support Equipment.Our Medical Centre, which was staffed with highly qualified Occupational Health Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, provided medical surveillance services to workers on-site. Our team ensured that workers received routine medical check-ups and other medical support services.
Our rescue and fire response team provided a highly trained and cross-functional team of firefighters. The team was trained in high angle/confined space rescue, firefighting, and hazardous material response. This ensured that our client's workforce was protected against potential hazards, and that any emergency situation could be handled effectively.
