David Vorster

David Vorster is the Regional Security Manager, Africa, based at the International SOS office in Johannesburg. He supports the continued growth of International SOS’ business and protection of its reputation by reducing the risks to personnel, assets and information across the Africa region.

David has a unique blend of security experience with significant international exposure in Iraq, Jordan, Afghanistan, Syria, Barbados, Madagascar and Africa. He has over 14 years of industry knowledge in numerous leadership positions, managing skilled professionals and culturally diverse teams with more than 7 years spent in remote insecure/conflict-affected countries. His main areas of expertise are high risk environments, close protection and security operations.

David holds a Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security (with Merit) from the University of Leicester, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political, Philosophical and Economic Studies from Stellenbosch University. He is a member of the Security Institute and has completed numerous courses and certificates in Security Management, Close Protection and Remote Medicine.
