As Chief Medical Officer, North America, Medical Services, Dr. Shusko provides key medical leadership and clinical governance in leading and developing International SOS medical teams across the North America Medical Services region which includes commercial, government and consulting business lines.
A senior healthcare executive with extensive clinical and operational background, Dr Shusko has over 25 years of international medical leadership experience spanning many disciplines of medical activity including public health, occupational and environmental medicine, global health as well as preventative and family medicine.
Prior to his current role, Dr Shusko was the Chief Medical Officer for a large health insurance corporation where he sat on the executive team providing medical leadership in the management of health plans and oversaw Pharmaceutical Benefits, Health and Wellness, Population Health, Medical Management and Quality Management services for the organization.
He retired as a Captain in the US Navy in 2020 and his 35 years of military service provided him with the opportunity to serve his patients in numerous roles spanning clinical, supervisory, policy and executive medicine services. Dr Shusko has a Masters of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health and is residency trained in both Occupational and Environmental Medicine as well as Family Medicine and is also Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Obesity Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine.
