The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the current Mpox outbreak in Africa to be a public health emergency of international concern. At least 13 African countries, including previously unscathed nations such as Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, have reported cases.

On 20 August, the medical experts at International SOS provided an initial update on the Mpox situation: current situation worldwide, variants active to date and map of spread. Two weeks later, where do we stand?
