Overview

International SOS provided emotional support and wellbeing services to the employees of a multinational shipping organisation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Problem

Our client was very concerned about the mental health and wellbeing of their workforce, particularly while in quarantine in a variety of overseas locations prior to travelling offshore or when on long rotation shifts offshore.

Solution

We used our healthcare teams, who have mental health training, to call employees when in quarantine and offshore on a regular basis to ensure that they remained mentally well during this challenging period. Anyone with a concern was further managed with psychological counselling and other mental health support as required.

Impact

The impact was very positive, as we were able to boost the morale and confidence of our client’s employees, which resulted in higher engagement levels and productivity.
