International SOS Provides Event Medical Support for India Energy Week

Ribbon

Overview

International SOS partnered with India Energy Week organisers in Bengaluru as the Official Medical Event Support Partner, supporting the first major event under India's G20 Presidency. Our role was to ensure the effective response and management of medical emergencies during the week-long conference, which focused on addressing energy industry challenges and opportunities. The event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narender Modi, received official support from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and participation from all Public Sector Undertakings, endorsed by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI).

Problem

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, our client had organised a significant Oil and Gas conference as part of the G20 agenda in India. The main challenge was to provide reassurance to the attendees and establish appropriate measures to handle any medical emergencies that might arise during the large-scale international event.

Solution

To address the challenge, International SOS implemented a range of measures to ensure the well-being of the conference attendees. This included deploying a dedicated medical team and equipping the event with essential medical resources.

International SOS provided a team of nurses, paramedics, and a doctor who were available throughout the week to deliver primary and first responder care. An Advanced Life Support (ALS) certified ambulance was stationed on standby to handle any medical emergencies that might occur.

In addition, International SOS's health experts developed a comprehensive Event Medical Support Plan. This plan provided the client with all the necessary information related to the medical support arrangements for the event. It ensured that the client and other support teams were well-prepared to respond effectively to any medical incidents that might arise.

The onsite medical team, comprising a doctor, nurse, and ambulance, remained present throughout the entire week of the conference. International SOS doctors provided medical support not only to the event attendees but also to the various support teams involved in the conference.

Impact

By partnering with International SOS, India Energy Week organisers were able to instil confidence among the attendees, knowing that they had access to dedicated medical professionals and emergency medical resources.

Over 80 medical consultations, five small injuries, and a medical emergency were handled by our medical experts on the ground during the entire week. The successful provision of medical support ensured the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the event.
