International SOS supported its client, an American manufacturing company producing industrial chemicals, to conduct site reviews following a lack of personnel to execute the assessments due to the pandemic.
The client was not able to conduct physical site reviews due to COVID-19 and had to rely on virtual or local audits. This was not the desired approach from management as it presented many uncertainties that could increase potential risks. Additionally, they also encountered a large backlog of pending assessments and lack of personnel to conduct them.
International SOS became their reliable resource to conduct site reviews. What our clients found the most useful during our experts’ review was our thorough risk evaluation process for each of their locations around the world and our ability to provide a global standard framework report. With our network of experts, we were able to identify additional local risks which management had not considered previously, enabling them to better protect their people.
International SOS organised 5 priority assessments that were completed in 100 hours across their locations in the United States. There are now plans in place to facilitate site reviews for the rest of their locations in Brazil, Estonia, China, and Malaysia. With the use of our Global Security Advisor Programme in conducting these reviews, our client was able to demonstrate a higher return on investment (ROI) from the reduced travel costs and the use of local and regional resources.
