Sonia Park
Security Manager

Sonia Park is a Security Manager at International SOS. She is responsible for delivering high-quality security assistance, information and analysis primarily to Korean-speaking clients operating globally, and secondarily to inbound clients in South Korea. Sonia works closely with relevant country, regional and global stakeholders to support operational readiness, information and analysis production, and situational awareness, with a particular focus on regional issues in North Asia.
Before joining International SOS, Sonia was a PhD candidate in Political Science and International Relations at Korea University. Her role there included serving as an instructor for undergraduate students, an editor at the Asiatic Research Institute, and a research associate at the East Asia Institute.
Her academic interest lies in political systems and international political economy, and she had published articles in peer-reviewed journals, including ‘Indonesia : Democracy and Economy Threatened by COVID-19’.
Before her time at Korea University, she worked for three years at Korean Air, where she was part of the Air Safety and Security team as well as the Incheon Cargo Operation team. In the Security team, she supported the management of aviation safety restrictions and flight security manuals.
