End malaria for goodIn 2015 alone, there were an estimated 212 million new cases of malaria and 429,000 deaths.
Almost 90% of malaria cases are concentrated in the African region. More than 10,000 travellers are reported to become sick with malaria each year after returning home. This highlights the heightened risk that travellers and international assignees face of contracting this serious and sometimes fatal disease.
It is an organisation’s responsibility to ensure that appropriate measures are implemented to protect its employees against malaria.
To help raise awareness, International SOS supports World Malaria Day on 25 April 2017.
