Countries affected by H5N1 since December 2003

The following nations have reported the virus in wild or domestic birds and/or humans. Note that all affected countries remain on this list, even if the disease has subsided or disappeared in the nation since being reported. Countries in red have also reported human cases. Countries highlighted in yellow probably have the virus entrenched in birds, presenting a constant risk to humans.
