International SOS and Control Risks Hurricane Maria advisory

International SOS has been running a Crisis Management Team to support clients, members and staff in the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, since Hurricane Maria made landfall on the 18 September.

Jamie Neill, General Manager of Assistance for International SOS commented, ‘Following Hurricane Maria we have managed over 250 requests for assistance. These requests are primarily related to movement of employees in and out of the impacted area, wellness checks on employees and getting supplies in.  We have successfully completed 11 Air Ambulance cases.”

Prior to 18 September, the Crisis Management team managing the hurricane issues in the International SOS Philadelphia Assistance Center was already in operation, managing Hurricanes Harvey, Jose, Irma and the earthquake in Mexico.
