International SOS provided assistance to an organisation who needed to locate their employee during a state of emergency.
Our client's employee, James, was on a leisure trip to Mexico. He entered his information into the International SOS Tracker system. The location had security challenges. Therefore, James wanted his company to be able to locate and contact him in case of an emergency. In the middle of the trip there was a shooting near James' hotel. Because his details had been entered into Tracker, his company knew where he was. They reached out via alerts and text messages.
While events around the hotel were unfolding, James was on a diving excursion. He did not have his cell phone with him and was unable to respond to the messages. However, upon returning to land he saw the notifications and called his organization’s crisis management team. He confirmed that he was safe.
With help from International SOS, James was kept informed of a possible situation. The organization went above and beyond in its Duty of Care obligations.
