    EXTREME MEDICAL RISK for Guinea
    MEDIUM TRAVEL RISK for Guinea

Risk Summary

Travel to Guinea can proceed. However, in case of medical conditions requiring urgent evacuation, timescales might still be slightly longer than before the Ebola outbreak (due to the extreme precautions taken by most aviation operators).

Petty theft and pervasive corruption, which contributes to the unreliability of the security forces, pose the main risks to business travellers. Political developments, discontent over living conditions, and conflicts between communities fuelled by competition over resources and religious or ethnically motivated antagonism can sporadically fuel bouts of severe unrest. Poor infrastructure and driving standards pose significant risks to travellers, especially outside the main cities.

This information is intended as a summary of the travel security environment; however, the risks can change at short notice during a crisis or evolving situation. Please check our travel security alerts to ensure you are informed of the most recent developments.
