ISOS Medical International Travel Medical Insurance
Effective 5/1/2017, the international travel medical insurance formerly offered by HTH will now be provided through ISOS Medical. International SOS will be the single contact point for all international travel emergencies, including medical insurance (if enrolled) while overseas. Enrollment for this coverage continues to be administered through Rutgers’ Office of Risk Management & Insurance (website at riskmanagement.rutgers.edu).
If you have enrolled in the ISOS Medical international travel medical insurance program, either through the Rutgers Office of Risk Management & Insurance, or as part of your participation in a Rutgers Study Abroad program, you are eligible for international accident & sickness medical coverage, with a limit up to $500,000, a $0 deductible and no pre-existing condition exclusion. International SOS will act as your single point of contact for locating, coordinating and paying for care while abroad.
Coverage is available to Rutgers students, faculty and staff traveling internationally on university matters. ALL Rutgers STUDENTS traveling internationally through the university are REQUIRED to purchase ISOS Medical (coverage is optional, but highly recommended, for faculty and staff traveling on university matters). Students traveling through the Rutgers Study Abroad Office are automatically enrolled in ISOS Medical as part of their program registration and fees. Students, faculty and staff traveling outside of an official Study Abroad Office program must enroll and pay for coverage through Rutgers Office of Risk Management & Insurance (riskmanagement.rutgers.edu), in order to be eligible for coverage while abroad.
All participants enrolled in ISOS Medical will use the Rutgers/ISOS membership number 11BSGC000021 to access medical coverage and services. A Rutgers/ISOS membership card, with emergency contact numbers, is available to download and print from the link on this page. The traveler must be ENROLLED in the ISOS Medical program to be eligible for medical benefits.
