International SOS, a  leader in corporate medical, health, and security risk management, recently announced that in response to the rapidly growing overseas market demands of Chinese enterprises, it will accelerate the deployment of resources dedicated to serving Chinese clients globally. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive native Chinese language services to Chinese businesses in the Belt and Road regions and the global market. The move is designed to strengthen the investment in global Assistance Centres, particularly building upon the dedicated team for Chinese clients successfully established earlier this year at the Dubai Assistance Centre. It further offers exclusive 24/7 Chinese-language services throughout the year, ensuring closer alignment with client needs.

International SOS's team of professional medical, health, and safety consultants offers round-the-clock, global coverage with native language assistance support. Faced with the medical health risks and security challenges encountered by Chinese enterprise employees worldwide, International SOS enables clients to connect more swiftly and conveniently with local service teams and resources in the more familiar Chinese language. Leveraging dedicated service teams for Chinese clients, International SOS can continuously provide “zero time difference” services in Chinese, closely tailored to client needs. In urgent situations, the team can even go directly to the client's site to offer support.

Currently, International SOS boasts over 300 employees proficient in Chinese language services worldwide. Among them, Chinese-speaking staff have been deployed in 16 global Assistance Centres, along with 50 medical experts stationed across 20 Assistance Centres worldwide. Additionally, 16 security experts in six Assistance Centres are also proficient in Chinese. Moreover, 10 account managers and subject-matter experts, offering Chinese language services, are spread across six countries globally.

Nicolas Sommer, Managing Director of International SOS China, emphasised,
"There has been a significant increase in demand from Chinese clients in overseas markets, especially over the decade of the global development of the Belt and Road Initiative. International SOS has accompanied Chinese enterprises in their global expansion, continuously increasing investments in these regions, particularly in building dedicated Chinese-speaking teams and services.

The provision of specialised Chinese language services and teams by International SOS is an active response to the growing global needs of Chinese customers and reflects our strong commitment to the Chinese market. International SOS is dedicated to being a solid support for Chinese businesses in their global operations. Whether in managing medical and health risks or addressing overseas security challenges, our constant endeavour is to support their global business operations in a manner that best aligns with our clients' needs."

International SOS operates across 81 offices, 26 Assistance Centres, and 30 regional security Centres worldwide, combining global service experience to provide clients with the most suitable localised services. Globally, International SOS has a medical professional team of over 5,400 personnel, along with more than 200 dedicated security risk professionals. Since entering the Chinese market in 1989, International SOS has continuously expanded its business scope, providing Chinese customers with more timely, grounded, and localised services and support globally. This expansion is a testament to International SOS's commitment to continuously meet the needs of Chinese clients and to always be ready to resolve their concerns, wherever and whenever needed.

In today's increasingly complex landscape of medical health and safety risks, such localised services are particularly crucial. For instance, after establishing a dedicated team for Chinese clients at the Dubai Assistance Centre, a notable client incident  occurred. An employee of a Chinese enterprise in Cameroon suddenly fell ill and lapsed into a coma. The Chinese client team at the Dubai Assistance Centre coordinated with the International SOS Beijing Assistance Centre for an immediate response. The patient was airlifted to Dubai via an air ambulance and underwent surgery at a local hospital. The International SOS Beijing Assistance Centre coordinated the entire transfer process with its Dubai service team, dispatching a Chinese team to visit and provide support at the hospital in Dubai where the patient was located. Additionally, they facilitated communication between the attending doctors and the medical team at the Dubai hospital. The customer coordination specialist was responsible for managing the local medical treatment process and client requirements in Dubai, ensuring the smooth transfer of the patient.

Leveraging its unique advantages in global capability and on-the-ground expertise, International SOS provides world-class medical and security risk services support to clients across various industries. Its client base spans multiple sectors, including energy, mining, engineering procurement and construction, information and communication technology, high- tech, aviation, maritime, automotive manufacturing, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, education, and financial services. International SOS supports staff working on domestic remote and overseas projects, as well as expatriates, by providing medical, health and safety services, along with mental health resilience support, thereby fulfilling the responsibility of Duty of Care to enhance corporate business resilience. This support is integral to furthering corporate sustainable development and achieving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.
