Working for International SOS

Read stories from Jackie, Travis and Ahmed who speak about their unique experiences working for International SOS.

Jackie
Supervisor, Operations Department
Medical Team, Taiwan

"One day I handled an urgent air ambulance case from Ho Chi Minh to Bangkok. The condition of the patient was critical, with the possibility that he would not survive. We quickly arranged transportation to hospital where fortunately he started to recover. Shortly after the evacuation, l called the family to check on his progress and the patient himself answered the phone. I was surprised to hear that he had recovered enough to answer the phone and very pleased to hear his voice. My job is meaningful. I provide much more than customer service - I help save lives."

Travis

Director of Security Services
London

"After a 14-year career as a military officer, I joined International SOS in London as the Regional Security Manager focusing on the EMEA region. I helped coordinate and deliver security assistance to clients operating in hazardous and volatile areas. I was called upon to assist with evacuations in Kenya and Georgia as well as deliver security advice in the face of increasing violence in Zimbabwe, Angola and Madagascar. Through these experiences, I am now able to undertake my current role as Director of Security Services. The nature of my role is wide ranging-- from providing informal advice to designing customized travel risk management programs, speaking at seminars, public and media relations, conducting security training, and when required, deploying out into the region to help clients in need."

Ahmed

Medical Director-Assistance Operations
Hong Kong

"After working in a private practice and emergency room in Paris, I joined International SOS to practice medicine at an expatriate emergency center in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo for a few weeks. After this experience, I had many opportunities to work in different locations around the world, including Nigeria for two years. In 1999, I moved to Hong Kong as a senior coordinating doctor and later I became the deputy medical director. I always wanted to work for a multinational company that is dynamic and provides the chance to have an international career. Moreover, the daily challenges in International SOS certainly make each day unique and the work exciting."
