International SOS, the world's leading international healthcare, medical and security assistance, and concierge services company continues to evacuate clients with expatriates and travelers in Libya by commercial and charter flight. Travelers have been met by International SOS reception teams providing medical support, accommodation, and travel coordination in Malta, Dubai, Paris, London, and Djerba, Tunisia.
The security situation in Libya remains volatile. Tripoli International Airport is open, however flights are subject to significant delays, road conditions are hazardous and communications including phone and internet service continue to be compromised.
International SOS encourages its clients to call one of its 28 alarm centers for help in evacuating travelers and expatriates from Libya. Travel Advice
International SOS and Control Risks are closely monitoring the developing situation in Libya. Our current advice includes:
- We advise against all travel to Libya until the situation has stabilized.
- All but identified stay-behind staff should withdraw from Libya. Travelers with concerns about their evacuation or contingency planning should contact their security or human resources function
- It may not be safe to move to an international point of departure; travelers should contact International SOS for advice on the risks before making a decision to leave secure accommodation.
- Personnel should avoid all movement in areas severely affected by anti-government violence. Minimize non-essential movement in all areas of Libya at this time.
