Our China operation consists of multi lingual medical and operational professionals from over 20 nationalities dedicated to help corporations analyze the cost of their medical care in China, and then work with them to develop solutions that lead to greater operational efficiencies.

To enable us to deliver the best services to our members, we have four clinics in Beijing, Nanjing, Tianjin and Shekou, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, supported by a 24-hour alarm center in Beijing.

Our alarm center provides 24-hour hotline services to all our members when they are in China. Any situation, from lost luggage to a serious medical condition, can be reported to the alarm center, where multilingual coordinators and doctors are on duty to respond to all types of emergencies. Each year, we answer more than 250,000 calls and manage over 25,000 cases, of which over 400 require an evacuation. To support the alarm center, we have an in-house dedicated team of flight doctors and nurses, an in-house air ambulance equipment warehouse and a dedicated aviation desk in charge of all flight plan liaisons and details.

We have developed and continue to develop our extensive network of hospitals, airlines and local authorities (we currently have over 450 partners) so that we can deliver a fast and efficient response to our members.

International SOS is also the only assistance company in China with a dedicated air ambulance on stand-by at the Beijing Capital airport ready to fly out if needed and also have access to:

• military aircraft enabling medical teams to reach areas in China which are out of bounds to civilian aircraft
• military aircraft for medical transport: fixed-wing, helicopter and challenger jets under internationally supervised maintenance
• military hospitals, many located in remote regions and often better equipped and staffed than civilian facilities.

Our western-standardized clinics are staffed by a team of international family physicians, specialists and national doctors and offer standard family practice services, emergency medical services and a range of clinical services through a network of providers that is unparalleled in China today.

We also have developed a dedicated Japanese department which consists in a Japanese section at Beijing and Tianjin clinics and Japanese speaking customer service executives at the alarm center ready to answer any enquiries.

Our Medical Services division in China operates over 40 remote sites. We assist companies in assessing health risks and delivering high-level medical services to their employees working in some of the most remote and difficult environments in the world, such as a mining operation in an isolated mountain region or an oil and gas venture offshore. Our services include:
